Storstrøm Service Group Projects

Construction of the new Storstrøm Bridge

Construction of the new Storstrøm Bridge

The new Storstrøm Bridge will be approximately 4 km long which makes it the 3rd longest bridge in Denmark.
The project has been initiated and the bridge is now under construction.
The construction is expected to be finished by 2022, and thereafter the old bridge is to be demolished – this project is expected to take a further 2-3 years.
The construction of the new Storstrøm Bridge as well as the demolition of the old bridge will involve an enormous amount of tasks, and Storstrøm Service Group will diligently work together with the winning consortiums and their sub-contractors to place as many of these tasks locally.

As part of the Ringsted-Fehmarn railway line project, a new double tracked railway bridge will be built east of the already existing rail- and road Bridge between Vordingborg and Masnedø.
This is a comprehensive construction work that has now been completed. On Sunday, September 29, 2019, trains again drove all the way to Nykøbing F.

Construction of new railroad Ringsted – Fehmarn

Construction of new railway Ringsted – Fehmarn

Banedanmark will lead this project which eventually will lead to the future fixed connection across the Fehmarn belt.
The project includes the modification of more than 100 bridges as well as adding an additional track alongside the existing train tracks between Vordingborg and Rødby.
The Ringsted-Fehmarn railway line will be electrified as well as having the speed limit raised to 200 km/h from the current 120-160 km/h.
These upgrades will decrease the travel time and will for instance mean that a trip from Nykøbing F to Copenhagen will have its travel time decreased from 1 hour and 34 minutes to only 1 hour.
